Overview
Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering; changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
Responsibilities
Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of an Electronics Technician Maintenance I and II.
Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering changes.
Requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow.
Uses complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment.
Qualifications
Minimum of seven (7) years electronics maintenance experience.
Formal Technical training as an Electronics Technician (Military Specialist Training or Civilian Equivalent)
Instruction experience.
Graduation from a two-year Electronics Technician program at an accredited technical institute or have completed factory/formal training on training devices/equipment listed in the contract.
Demonstrate competence through satisfactory progressive performance as an Electronics Technician.
Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Ability to multi-task.
Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license, and be insurable by the company's insurance carrier.
May be required to work extended workdays frequently. Overtime compensation established by local SCA regulations, if applicable.

Physical Demands
Position consists of sitting for long periods of time, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for handling, to work with such hand tools as wrenches, screwdrivers, wire cutters, pliers, and soldering irons. Seeing up close. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in an office setting, but may also be performed in a maintenance facility as well as outdoors in military training areas. Work is often performed outdoors, in adverse conditions including inclement weather such as high humidity, heat, cold, high wind, rain, and various local conditions. Our mission is to train US Marines; therefore we work side by side with them in all climates and conditions.
Employee often exposed to sharp objects and may be exposed to some heat, loud noise, chemicals, lead and vibration. Katmai strictly adheres to the Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA) regulations. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.
Work Schedule
40 hours per week and occasional overtime, with prior supervisor approval, as required to maintain operations and support the mission
